Please keep the following advice in mind:
- Wear comfortable clothes (preferably natural fibres)
- Practise barefoot
- Don't wear ornaments, which could lead to injuries (necklace, bracelet, watch,?)
- Don't eat anything for two hours before the practise
- Don't drink during the practise
- Consuming coffee and cigarettes has a strong effect on the circulation, so it should be avoided two hours before and after the practise.
Make sure there is enough air in the room before you start to practise
- You are able to use the Yoga mats which are available in the Yoga centre, but to bring your own mat is of benefit (special mats can be bought in the Yoga centre)
- During menstruation, women don't have to practise Ashtanga-Yoga. But if you practise, you should concentrate more on the end relaxation. Don't practise the reverse positions (shoulder stand, back bend, hand stand, head stand?). There are very good alternative postures your Yoga teacher can show you.
The participation in the course is on your own responsibility. If you have severe health problems, please consult and talk to your doctor. If you are in a bad health state, or if you are pregnant, please inform the Yoga teacher before the class.
In case of any discomfort, immediately tell the Yoga teacher.
It's important to trust your body, to respect your limits and loosen up blockades with the aid of the exercises. Please follow the instructions of the teacher and when there is something unclear, just ask.
- At the beginning of the class, sit comfortably on the mat, meditate and let your thoughts come to peace
- Warm up your body with the sun salutations
- The practise sequence ends with the end relaxation of 10 minutes (Sav?sana)
- For a personal practise regularity is better than to have a long practise sometimes
- Also when practising daily you should never push too hard. You should respect the condition of your body, mind and soul.
